The Purchased Cost Adjustment is a separate line item on each City of Medford Electric bill statement which reflects the increases/decreases in the Electric Utility cost of power purchased wholesale from the City’s power provider.
The Purchased Cost Adjustment (PCA) is an adjustment made to the electric bill to reflect in the true cost of power purchased from the City of Medford’s provider. The number is based on cost of fuel for generation. It appears as a separate line item on each member's bill each month.
The Purchased Cost Adjustment on an electric bill statement is computed by multiplying the amount charged by the number of kilowatt hours used. For example, the amount charged is .0345, and 1000 kWh was used during the billing period, the Purchased Cost Adjustment would be a charge of $34.50.
